Dial up doesn't work with your ps2, it runs too slow.

Connect the ps2s together with a LAN cables and router. Then you should be able to play.
You can't.
try a wireless modem

How to play online with a playstation 2?

I have the old ps2, the bi box one, and am wondering how to play online with fifa 10. please if someone could describe the steps needed and maybe what website to go to to get anything needed,

ThanksHow to play online with a playstation 2?
It's a bit tricky, but getting online is easy if you have the proper instructions. First things first, you'll need to purchase a PS2 Network Adapter. They cost at least $15 and can be found at GameStop or a variety of other places.

For a step-buy step guide on getting online, refer to IGN's wonderful article here:

How would you get your son to study when he is stuck with ps2 and games?

I have a 9 year old son who will cry when asked to study. He can play games for straight 8 hours flat without problems. He plays all the online games plus after that ps2.Now he wants the new playstation which I won't give.

I have been successful to make him play less for a while but he never managed to stay studying daily for even one hour. His result has been worse since he got his hands on these games. Is there a way out, short of sending the ps2 into the bin and disconnect internet line? How would you get your son to study when he is stuck with ps2 and games?
It would be simple. I was that kid, now I have made it my job, well sorta. I do web development and webpage design, from the ground up. I look at all aspects of a customer's needs, and evaluat the best option to execute them into results. It starts as a process. Since you that your son is interested in video games now, ask him what he wants to do when he gets older with the games. Let him make the two connections... It's a little early now to tell what field he will get into as he gets older, but have that discussion with him. Take an interest in it and relate it to his studies.

If you can, make a trip to the community college where they have programs for video game design and website development -- and get one of the instructors there to speak with him if he has the time. They are busy people, so if you ask the professors (bribe), they might take 10 - 15 minutes to talk to him.

I make a pretty decent living, I charge $35-40 an hour (under the table!) and do my work completely online -- through job boards like getafreelancer, elance and odesk. However, all subjects were important to my understanding of the field in order for me to break into it and put all the pieces of the puzzle together.

My grasp of English helps me to really understand how a website is outlined, mathematics (the concepts especially like trigonometery and algebra), were really important in my understanding of how to script the programs for my clients.

Psychology is important so that I can understand the outcomes of where I place an object on a webpage so I can get the response that I want from the words I typed up on the page.

Let your son make the connection, show him HOW, and he will DO.How would you get your son to study when he is stuck with ps2 and games?
You should take it away and tell him he will get to play when he is done his homework. If he doesn't agree then don't give it back until he listens and stay firm. Maybe scheduling an hour or two during the weekend would be a good start and then maybe let him during the weekdays only if he cooperates.Don't keep buying him games if he doesnt listen, however if he does then rewarding him would make him happy. 8 hours is way too much, and if you cant take control of this now then it will create bigger problems. Try to fill up his time with other fun things.
Wow, you got to teach your son on how to be a responsible person even when he is 9 years old. Like have goals for him to achieve and when he does allow him to play as much video games as he want to or something along those lines but during the process, you have to teach him about that he may have to do that he may not like but instead, try to make it fun for him as well.
Take away games until homework and studying is done. Study with him and ask questions about what he's learning. Too many kids rather play games and spend their days on the computer then outside. I have an eleven year old step daughter who spends all day at her moms on Facebook. She is smart but socially slow. Be careful and start now when he is still young.
Yes there is a way.. it's called YOU BE A PARENT!!!! My kids have games too, but no games till homework is done and a ONE hour a day limit on screen time...If your son can't follow YOUR rules then the games go out, period..You are not here to be your child's best buddy you are here to be his parent...That means he won't like you sometimes, but too bad... (mom of five)
dont disconnect the internet line, hell hate you for that (sorry)

i would advise you to try a bribe, perhaps with the ps3

If not you could just move the ps2 into your room so that he has to ask/tell you before playing
Take the power cord out of the PS2. Make sure he does his homework, and when he does and you've verified that, you can give him the cord back for an hour of play. Playing video games is a privilege, not a right.
As a mother i will take the game from him or just give him a time limit when he can play his games. And if his school work doesn't improve, then you will discard it.
try to teach it in a fun way

sorta lik a game because hes only 9

he shud have fun wit it
I wouldn't choose any other way... but then again it could be used as an incentive.

Remember, such things are a privilege and not a right. You are the parent and you know best. Speak with a stern and fair manner. Punishment should be emotionless yet fair.

If he can't find himself to study or do is homework, then he does not earn the privilege to play games.

Give him a limit, if he grips about that, then tell him it is that or nothing at all. Be serious and follow through. He basically is bluffing you into submission. If he acts out, then the longer he misbehaves, the longer he will go without.

You can even tell him that his grades have to improve to so much before you can even consider giving him back the play time. Remind him that it's his actions that change his circumstances. Only when he does right does he like the outcome.

Below is a site that has so much wonderful advice, check it out.
Getting rid of the PS2 will only cause problems. What you need to do is let him do what he's interest in, and work with that in your favor. There are many informational, learning games for the latest systems, rent them, buy them and see how long he plays that.

Apparently he dreads studying and there's a reason for it, try to focus on that reason (prehaps he's ADHD/ADD and hates to sit and learn) make learning more interactive and fun for him;

-Flash Cards

-Hide and Seek type of game (you give him a question and he has to go find a hidden card in the house with the correct answer)

-Get Easter eggs and a bin of water and he has to get them with his mouth or some other challenging way to get the eggs out, and inside the eggs are information and facts.

Make learning fun, this will be a life long benefit. In psychology, I'm learning about Associative learning: if you take away his PS2 and force him to study something the way you want him to (sit down, quiet, and read, etc.) then he'll associate learning and studying his whole life with being bored, angry, sad, and the feeling of the PS2 being taken away (your emotions are just as important in learning as anything else). Make fun associate with learning and studying for your kid.

Also there are many careers that revolve around gaming, apparently he has almost an addiction to them, so this can also be beneficial especially in the long run. If there's potential don't waste it.

***The best way to learn and remember is to connect -- the only reason you know certain facts is because it interested you, and you connected it with an observation you had made earlier but never thought about.

Good luck, don't make any harsh decisions that you'll regret.

I have ps2 slim with cable internet and dont know how to get online with it?

Run a cat 5 ethernet cable from your Cable modem or router to the back of your ps2. Next if you have your network disc that came with your ps2 you will need to put the disc in and save your network configurations to a memory card(Pretty simple to do and if you have doubts when asked a question in the configuration set it to auto. If you don't have the configuration disc that came with your ps2 get a game that is online capable (Socom 2 as a example) put the disc in and try to go online and play it will prompt you to make a network config file on your memory card . It is a simple process that most games have built in and will only take a few minutes. Do this and you should be good to go.I have ps2 slim with cable internet and dont know how to get online with it?

How do I setup my wireless router with my cable modem?

Recently we switched from DSL internet to Cable and with DSL we had the wireless router working just fine and we were able to use our laptop for work using a wireless adapter and a wireless adapter to play online video games on the PS2. Anyway, its a D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G 2.4GHz wireless broadband router. I connected two ethernet cords: one from the computer to the router, one from the router to the modem. The lights were flashing like they should be getting a connection but they weren't and I wasn't able to access the internet. We had purchased this router about 5 or so years ago but its worked fine, even though we've only had DSL. Please help me set this up. I called D-Link and they want me to call someone and pay to have this done. Thought it was too simple of a task, maybe just enter some numbers in the computer. Thought I'd ask here first. Please help! ThanksHow do I setup my wireless router with my cable modem?
When you switch from DSL to Cable you need to tell the router you are switching from the DSL Protocol, PPPOE, to a Cable Protocol, most likely Dynamic or Static IP.

Log into your router by typing 192.168.0.1 in your explorer window. When you are in the routers config page got the WAN section and select Dynamic IP from the selections and hit Apply.

The router should reboot and you should be connected to the internet. How do I setup my wireless router with my cable modem?
Here is how my Linksys is hooked up. The incoming cable internet is plugged into Internet slot on the back of the router from the cable modem The other cable runs from the #1 slot from the back of the router to the pc itself.

Also you may want to try (if you haven't allready) simply unplugging your cable modem and waiting a minute before plugging it back in. I'm no expert but I'm not sure your router will work with cable internet, you might need a Wireless-G Broadband Router.
You have to reset it first and then set it up for the new cable connection.

here's an install guide.
