My cousin has a Ps2 as do I... We are gonna get together and play online but he would have to come to my house for I have cable and him with dial up.. We were gonna run another line to my room and hook it to his ps2.. His ps2 on a different TV... How would I do this... Dial up doesn't work with your ps2, it runs too slow.

I have a 9 year old son who will cry when asked to study. He can play games for straight 8 hours flat without problems. He plays all the online games plus after that ps2.Now he wants the new playstation which I won't give.
I have been successful to make him play less for a while but he never managed to stay studying daily for even one hour. His result has been worse since he got his hands on these games. It would be simple. I was that kid, now I have made it my job, well sorta. I do web development and webpage design, from the ground up. I look at all aspects of a customer's needs, and evaluat the best option to execute them into results. It starts as a process. Since you that your son is interested in video games now, ask him what he wants to do when he gets older with the games. Let him make the two connections... It's a little early now to tell what field he will get into as he gets older, but have that discussion with him. Take an interest in it and relate it to his studies.
If you can, make a trip to the community college where they have programs for video game design and website development -- and get one of the instructors there to speak with him if he has the time. They are busy people, so if you ask the professors (bribe), they might take 10 - 15 minutes to talk to him.
I make a pretty decent living, I charge $35-40 an hour (under the table!) and do my work completely online -- through job boards like getafreelancer, elance and odesk. However, all subjects were important to my understanding of the field in order for me to break into it and put all the pieces of the puzzle together.
My grasp of English helps me to really understand how a website is outlined, mathematics (the concepts especially like trigonometery and algebra), were really important in my understanding of how to script the programs for my clients.
Psychology is important so that I can understand the outcomes of where I place an object on a webpage so I can get the response that I want from the words I typed up on the page.

My kids have games too, but no games till homework is done and a ONE hour a day limit on screen time...If your son can't follow YOUR rules then the games go out, period..You are not here to be your child's best buddy you are here to be his parent...That means he won't like you sometimes, but too bad... In psychology, I'm learning about Associative learning: if you take away his PS2 and force him to study something the way you want him to (sit down, quiet, and read, etc.) then he'll associate learning and studying his whole life with being bored, angry, sad, and the feeling of the PS2 being taken away (your emotions are just as important in learning as anything else). Make fun associate with learning and studying for your kid.
Also there are many careers that revolve around gaming, apparently he has almost an addiction to them, so this can also be beneficial especially in the long run. If there's potential don't waste it.
***The best way to learn and remember is to connect -- the only reason you know certain facts is because it interested you, and you connected it with an observation you had made earlier but never thought about.

Run a cat 5 ethernet cable from your Cable modem or router to the back of your ps2. Next if you have your network disc that came with your ps2 you will need to put the disc in and save your network configurations to a memory card(Pretty simple to do and if you have doubts when asked a question in the configuration set it to auto. If you don't have the configuration disc that came with your ps2 get a game that is online capable (Socom 2 as a example) put the disc in and try to go online and play it will prompt you to make a network config file on your memory card . It is a simple process that most games have built in and will only take a few minutes. Recently we switched from DSL internet to Cable and with DSL we had the wireless router working just fine and we were able to use our laptop for work using a wireless adapter and a wireless adapter to play online video games on the PS2. Anyway, its a D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G 2.4GHz wireless broadband router. I connected two ethernet cords: one from the computer to the router, one from the router to the modem. The lights were flashing like they should be getting a connection but they weren't and I wasn't able to access the internet. We had purchased this router about 5 or so years ago but its worked fine, even though we've only had DSL. Please help me set this up. I called D-Link and they want me to call someone and pay to have this done. Thought it was too simple of a task, maybe just enter some numbers in the computer. Thought I'd ask here first. Getting a 360 soon! And need some help!?
My birthdays coming up soon, and i am going to get an xbox 360. I plan on having hd in the future, but have some questions regarding what 360 to buy.
I want the normal 360 because of its price, but im wondering if it can get hd like the elite?

You can go HD with a normal XBOX 360 (XBOX 360 Premium a.k.a Pro) you can get HD like the Elite. There's a switch on the cable that connects it to the TV to change it to HD. Then you just have to tell it in the settings to change to an HD image.
All XBOX 360s now have HDMi (Arcade, Premium/Pro and Elite). Just make sure you get one made in late 2007 as they have a lower chance of the RROD.
With an Elite you are paying for colour, Hard Drive space (120GB opposed to the 20GB that comes with the Premium XBOX 360) and an HDMi cable.

There are different ways of paying but the cheapest way is to pay 拢40 for a year of XBOX Live Gold and then just renew it when it runs out.
XBOX Live Silver is free BUT you can't play with other people online. XBOX Live Gold on the other hand, lets you do everything, play online, chat etc.
Make sure you sign up to XBOX Live Silver first and then you get a month of FREE XBOX Live Gold before you decide if you want to go Gold.

I have two ps2's and two copies of two battlefront 2's and i have an ethernet bridge communicating with my router. I like the black finish of the 60gb, the memory card slots, the four usb ports (I know everybody says that it is a fingerprint magnet but seriously, how often do you think I'm going to be putting my hands all over it) and i like the touch sensitive buttons. I don't care about memory because if I get the 60gb I would replace the hard drive so that I don't have somebody else's stuff on it. I like that the ps3 slim is smaller and uses less energy. If I get the ps3 120gb I would get a ps2 with it so that I can play ps2 games (I used to have a ps2, but then I had to return it) but I like that with the 60gb ps3 i don't have separate accessories and you can use the wi-fi to play ps2 games online. I can't get online with monster hunter ( one ), help?
I am using the ps2 version on a slimline ps2. But i keep getting error 204. I'm not sure how to fill in the registration properly as i have never tried to go online with a ps2 game before. I am getting a new game for my PS2 tomorrow with my gift card I got for my birthday recently. I was planning on getting either SOCOM: Combined Assault or Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. I know that they are both good online games, but I can't figure out how to get my PS2 hooked up online yet. Ok, I can't figure out a way to get my PS2 games to get online with my PS3, my system has WiFi, but my PS2 games can't connect online. I have a 80GB PS3 that was in the MGS4 bundle. I have my ethernet cord, but my router is 2 room away and the cord won't reach all the way into the other room. In some games the online configuration comes up, some say its connected, some say its not, but yet it still won't connect. 1 time it connected but cou;dn't contact the surver (Need for Speed Underground). ok, so, I just asked a question as to where to locate my tcp/ip info. Well, I was able to find it through the ';cmd'; thing, but now I need to know how to change something about my tcp/ip. More specifically, I need to know how to Enable IP routing.
In case anyone is wondering (or would like more insight)-I'm attempting to get my PS2 online through my laptop, and I have gotten it connected to the point where the DNAS thing starts running-but then it stops, and I figure it has something to do with the fact that my connection says the CAT5 crossover wire is unplugged (when I know damn well it is plugged on both ends perfectly fine). So I clicked the repair button, but a notice comes up saying I have to change the TCP/IP settings. So after I got the tip to go into the ';cmd'; and entered in ';ipconfig/all'; I looked to see what might need to be changed and the only thing I can figure needs to be changed in order to repair the connection is that the routing needs to be enabled.
Well, that's all of the information I can give you, so any help would be great.
And please don't tell me it's easier to change my IP stuff by right-clicking on my connections, cuz for whatever reason, the Internet Protocol button simply doesnt show up. I have no choice but to change it through the ';cmd'; thing.Ipconfig/all....if you understand that, then please help?

tcp/ip protocol will show up!!! you just need to chill out and look for it! its in the drop down list that pops up when you right click on your network connection and click status then properties. scroll all the way down the list...you'll see it at the bottom.
If the internet protocol line doesn't show up when you Right click on the connection and select properties, you are going to have to install it. Use the little install button, then click protocols. Good Luck.
If it says that you cable is unplugged, you might not really have a crossover cable, you may have a straight cable instead.
Make sure your wireless is the only one enabled and type these commands in that order:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
It'll get what it needs from the router again.

How can I change my wireless internet connection to an Ethernet connection using my computer?
I use a wireless card to connect my desktop to the internet. I Also want to connect my ps2 in the same room to the internet. The router is to far away for it to be practical running a lan cable from it to the ps2. I am currently able to get one of my ps2 games online using ics on Windows XP and an extra lan card on the desktop but the other 2 games won't work. I know ics is not ideal for this and even with the Windows firewall off most of the ports the games use are blocked. My question is are there any programs that will fix this or better yet is there any boot disc that I can start my computer with (something linux based) that will make my computer a pass through using my wireless card and lan card? Then when I'm done pop the disk out, reboot, and start windows normally? Both cards are Realtek based, the wireless is an rtl8180 and the lan is a rtl8139c. mm alright i'll try to explain i got both consoles, months back, i was playing online with ps2 socom combined assault,

Just unplug EVERYTHING from your modem, wait 3 full minutes and then plug everything back up to your modem, but instead of hooking it up to your computer, hook it up to your PS3 or PS2.
