Unfortunately Sony does not seem to have seen fit to make the setup utility available for download, even though it is basically a free utility. According to this thread I found, it was available but they pulled it for some reason. It's a long thread so the info is the post by ';newbie'; about who at Sony to send an email to, to get a network setup disc free in the mail. You could get a couple of neat demos too.

Of course you'll probably want to play online before they actually send it, so here's all the games I can think of off the top of my head that have the utility on the disc. If there's one you like, maybe find it used for $5, if you can't, then go rent it. You only need it for a while.

Here goes:

Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat

LOTR: Return of the King

Timesplitters 2 (not online, but it has it)

Tom Clancy Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow

Medal of Honor: Rising Sun

Socom U.S. Navy Seals 1, 2 and 3

Delta Force: Black Hawk Down

probable: any EA online game made after 2004

and any other online game made released after the launch of the first ps2 model with built-in ethernet (2005, I think)

Good luck but one final thought, are you sure anyone actually plays that title anymore, I tried to play ATV offroad fury 2 online 2 years ago, and there was nobody there for 2 daysPlaying PS2 games online with a PS3?
you'll have to install the ps2 network disc on the ps3.
The disc you need is the one that came with a PS2 network adaptor. Probably you don't have it, so you need to use a PS2 online game that can create this config for you. A lot of games have it but not all. MGS3 Subsistence disc 2 has it
You have to install the network on your PS3 (exactly like on your PS2) and have it saved on your internal memory card.

You need that disc that you got with it...the one with the Tribes and ATV offroad fury demo (at least thats what they were for me).
